Developing CIO Teams of the Future

For the next bound of Digital Government, our government agencies need to continually modernise outdated products (e.g. systems, applications) and catalyse a pipeline of innovative digital products that bring value to businesses and citizens, while ensuring the security and resilience of all these products.

Our tech workforce must thus upskill continuously to keep up with best-in-class practices and technologies. This includes having the competencies to build digital products, be a “smart buyer” of vendor services, as well as for effective data management, governance and cybersecurity. The expectations of CIOs and CIO teams, in particular, will continue to rise. Accordingly, GovTech will support and transform CIO teams to develop product-centric mindsets, as well as product, cybersecurity, and resilience capabilities.

CIO Capability Development by GovTech Digital Academy 

GovTech Digital Academy delivers targeted development programmes, delivered by practitioners for practitioners, and which include practical learning experiences and peer networking opportunities. Specifically for incumbent or newly appointed CIOs and by nomination basis, the CIO Milestone Programme comprises structured modules, and a capstone project, all carefully curated to help CIOs hone the capabilities needed to lead digital transformation at their agencies. Beyond the structured learning, GovTech Digital Academy offers a blend of out-of-class learning experiences like learning journeys, including peer learning, communities of practice and other networking opportunities.
